Jennifer Kesselring has been an early childhood educator for over 34 years. For the past 28 years she has been at Riverfield Country Day School, an Independent school serving children eight weeks through twelfth grade, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During her tenure there she been a classroom teacher, studio teacher, pedagogical coordinator, Division Head, and Head of Pedagogy and Strategic Innovation. She has published several articles, contributed chapters to multiple books, presents nationally and internationally, consults with schools and school districts, designs and hosts professional development initiatives and, most recently, co-authored Curated Moments, a book focused on the Environment, Materials and Inquiry as provocations for learning. In addition to her work at Riverfield, she is an instructor for University of Colorado, Denver, in the Innovative Teacher Education Graduate School program. She has recently begun consulting with Guidecraft and Kaplan in the design of educational equipment and materials. She has held positions on the North American Reggio Alliance Board, Early Childhood Association of Oklahoma Board, Tulsa Community College Advisory Council, The International Infant Toddler Conference Planning Board, and the National Association for Gifted Children Curriculum Committee. She is working on her dissertation towards a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Curriculum and Instruction. She has been deeply inspired and motivated by the schools in Reggio Emilia, Italy, collaborates with Amelia Gambetti in an ongoing fashion, regularly participates in professional development offered in Reggio Emilia, and most notably presented at their 0-99 Education Conference.
